Software provider will bring added value through its administrative technology suite for healthcare education programs
STILWELL, Kan., Jan. 9, 2011 – Ascend Learning, a leading provider of technology-based educational solutions for healthcare and other vocational industries, has acquired Advanced Informatics, a software company helping healthcare education programs more efficiently manage the clinical education experience of their students. The deal is part of Ascend’s overall growth plan, which emphasizes strong, organic growth of its current business units and selective, strategic acquisitions.
Through its successful E*Value® software, Advanced Informatics helps its clients manage class schedules, evaluations, outcomes measurement, coursework delivery, electronic portfolios, curriculum mapping, and procedure tracking for their students. By streamlining these activities, the company addresses a critical pain point in healthcare education by automating much of a school’s reporting requirements for the accreditation process.
“Advanced Informatics is an outstanding addition to our Ascend Learning family of companies and will help us expand our partnerships with the best educators and top colleges, universities and businesses around the country,” said Rick Willett, CEO of Ascend Learning. “As the market leader, Advanced Informatics will continue to provide superior service to its clients while benefiting from the synergies within Ascend.”
Advanced Informatics is headquartered in Minneapolis and has 70 employees. Current Advanced Informatics Chief Operating Officer Quinn Montgomery will continue to serve as general manager of the business unit and will report directly to Doug Krebs, president of ATI Allied Health and International Markets.
